GDP #196 - Sailing Home

I'm back for another post this week! Woohoo!! I love getting back in the groove!

I am participating in the Global Design Project #196 Challenge, again - CASE the Designer!

CASE = Copy And Selectively Edit

Here is the original design by Connie Collins:

I chose to copy the layout because I just love the frame. I used another new bundle from the recently released Annual Catalog, Sailing Home, from the Come Sail Away Suite.

I love the vintage line art in this nautical set and paired it with the new High Seas 3D Embossing folder.

I used the Stitched Rectangles dies to die cut my frame and layered it over a embossed piece of Seaside Spray cardstock. My two sail boats are stamped in Night of Navy ink and I used my Blender Pen to move a little of the ink around for color. I stamped my anchor in Sahara Sand on Sahara Sand cardstock and added one of the Sail Away metal trinkets for extra flair.

I just love how this all came together. It'll make a wonderful masculine Valentine's Day or Anniversary card for someone special!

I hope you enjoy my submission! Thanks for stopping by!

It's also Sharing Saturday! Hop on over to my Facebook VIP Group and share a project to be entered into a drawing for a pack of Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels!

Luv2Stamp Team Meeting Projects

It's Thursday, again! I hope you're all having a lovely 4th of July Holiday! The little guy and I are hanging out today - well, this week, really. Dad is in Columbia on a guys vacation with a couple of the cousins. He loves to travel and I'm so grateful that we're able to do so as a family and as individuals!

Today's post comes to you with projects from last weekend. We had our Luv2Stamp Team Meeting, launching the new Annual Catalog. The Luv2Stamp Team is Patty Bennett's team and I am in her second level. We get together 3 times a year to highlight new catalog released products, spend time talking about our business and getting a little training in. It's such a great time getting together with everyone that we don't always see often and crafting!

Patty was gracious and trusting enough to let me co-host this one! I was so grateful for the opportunity! It was alot of elbow grease but the meeting was wonderful and everyone loved the projects!

We made 6 projects but these are the three that I designed and prepped - I hope you enjoy them, also!

I am just loving the new Noble Peacock Suite - the DSP and Foils are just amazing!! This card has NO stamping - can you believe it?! Once I had all of the pieces in place I just couldn't bring myself to add a sentiment to the front. I die cut the peacock out of Sparkle Glimmer paper and used sponges with Pretty Peacock, Blueberry Bushel and Old Olive inks to create a pretty ombre effect.

The next two cards use the new Pigment Sprinkles! Have you seen them, yet? They're similar to other watercolor pigment powders on the market but these are in our signature Stampin' Up! colors and are amazingly vibrant! I was floored! They're a little messy, but oh so fun!

This card uses the new Silhouette Scenes bundle, which has a stamp set and coordinating dies. I just love the tree die cut and knew I wanted to watercolor it! I used the Bermuda Bay and Granny Apple Green Pigment Sprinkles and just let the colors run together while spritzing water on them. It turned out a beautiful shade of Clover, I think, with some muddled Apple in there. I used my Stamparatus to stamp the image of the girl swinging. It makes stamping crisp, solid images a breeze because if the ink is blotchy anywhere, you can ink up your stamp again and stamp it right back down in the exact same spot - no halos or shadows!

My last card features the new To A Wild Rose bundle. This open image flower just begs to be colored with all of the mediums!! On this card I used the Pigment Sprinkles in Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight and Gorgeous Grape. The colors just jump off of the paper!

I just love every new catalog release and the new products we get to play with. Getting together as a team of crafty friends is always such a fun day!

Whether you're interested in getting an awesome discount for yourself or building a business, Stampin' Up! has an amazing promotion going on right now! Stampin' BINGO Bonanza

I haven't had a chance to post about the Annual Catalog Launch Stampin' BINGO event that I hosted on the 15th - but boy was it a BLAST! My Stampin' BINGO events have just soared to new heights. It started as 6 people in my house and moved to 22 people at a Pizza Parlor and is now well over 30 people at a ClubHouse. I've also bumped my frequency to 4 a year, due to popularity. If you're in the Bay Area (California), you've gotta join us. It's mad fun!! You can find all of my event info on my Events tab. On October 5th, I'll be hosting Holiday Stampin' BINGO - it'll be a ton of fun and a great jump start to your Holiday projects! I hope you'll join us!

For the Annual Catalog Launch we spent the day playing with all new items that were just released on June 4th!

This card is a fun fold using the new Floral Essence Bundle (stamp set and punch) as well as the new Pressed Petals DSP and Leaf Punch.

The new Noble Peacock DSP paired with the fun and whimsical Delightful Day stamp set was a match made in heaven!

I'm pretty sure the new Above the Clouds bundle (stamp set and punch) is one of my absolute, all-time favorites! My crafty friends thought I was a little nutty when I got so excited about it at our OnStage event in April, but I think I've managed to convince them, now! Isn't this just AWESOME?!

The new Scalloped Notecards are just amazing! You get them in 4 colors and they're the perfect size for a perfect note. This card uses the new Free as a Bird stamp set and Bird Ballad DSP - I just love it!

And, since it was Father's Day Weekend, we made a masculine card that could be given then or for any special occasion. For this card we used the new A Good Man stamp set and the Come Sail Away DSP - which has lots of blues and is simply gorgeous!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed seeing our projects from Stampin' BINGO and if you're local (or semi-local and looking for a day trip), I'd love to see you at my next event in Concord, CA!!

Thank You Big Time

I am so excited to have time to play with new Catalog products! I hope you'll check back often, as I am going to share lots of fun things in the next few weeks!

As soon as I thumbed through the new '19-'20 Annual Catalog, the We'll Walrus Be Friends stamp set caught my eye. I kept going back to it each time I would look at the catalog - it is SO cute and punny!

I sat down to play with this and wasn't sure where to start. Whenever I get stumped I start scrolling through card sketches or past issues of our Demonstrator exclusive quarterly magazine, Stampin' Success. I came across this past GDP challenge sketch and immediately knew the direction I was going in.

My mind went to the new High Seas 3D Embossing Folder and I knew I wanted my Walrus friend peeking out of a circle in the water!

I embossed a piece of Seaside Spray cardstock with the High Seas folder and used my 1 1/2" Circle Punch to cut out a window. I used a sponge dauber to lightly add some color to the waves so they'd stand out a little more.

I stamped my image in Memento Black ink on Thick Whisper White cardstock and colored him with my Stampin' Blends. I then punched him out with my 2" Circle Punch - which, I guess wasn't really necessary. He could be any shape as long as it is larger than the hole and doesn't peek out from under the mat.

I made my card base with Seaside Spray cardstock and layered a piece of our new In Color Seaside Spray DSP from the 6x6 Stack onto it.

Originally, I planned to color his fishy friends and fussy cut them out and then I thought that it might be super cute if they were peeking out, too - and I was right! I used my 1/2" Circle Punch to make their spots and added them to the card. I used foam dimensionals on my cardstock to give a little depth to it. My sentiment was stamped on Whisper White cardstock and punched out with my Classic Label Punch. I am all about the ease and versatility of punches, lately!

And no card (IMO) is complete without a little bling. The new Woven Threads Sequins are my JAM! They are all 5 of the new '19-'21 In Colors and are gorgeous!

This card is my swap for our Luv2Stamp Team Meeting on Saturday. I hope everyone loves it as much as I do.

Thank you for stopping by!! All of the products I used will be listed below and available in my online store.

Hooray - GDP #195

Hi Crafty Friends,

It's finally slowing down for the summer and I couldn't be more ready. This year has been a whirlwind so far. My crafting events have taken off at light-speed! I'm not complaining, by any means.. but I am looking forward to taking a little bit of time for myself and my family this summer.

Things slowing down also means I can get back to some project challenges and blogging. My poor blog has suffered, for sure.

With my June events (almost) behind me, I was able to steal a few moments to sit down and play with something from the new catalog. I have been dying to play with this bundle since seeing it at OnStage in April. Oh my gosh, you guys - DINOSOAURS!!

The new DINORAWR Suite is absolutely perfect - there's shades for boys and shades for girls and, well, Dinos.

Aren't these just adorable?!?! You can bet there will be more fun stuff coming your way with these products!

For now, my first project was inspired by the Global Design Project's Theme Challenge (GDP #195) - Balloons! I knew I wanted to play with these Dinosaurs and that I needed to incorporate balloons... so what better reason than to create a card to celebrate!

This card was so fun to make! I just love the new In Color, Pretty Peacock, and it's in this lovely suite so I grabbed the new Noble Peacock Foil and used the Pretty Peacock and Old Olive sheets to punch out balloons for my Dino friend.

I just love these colors and I know you will, too!

An extra touch that I added was to emboss the Stitched Nested Label with my Subtle 3D Embossing folder. I stamped my sentiment first, but you can emboss with this and stamp on top of it because it adds just the most subtle design on your paper. It's perfect!

A few notes about my card:
  • Pretty Peacock Card Base
  • Mango Medley Mat, cut to 4 1/8" x 5 3/8"
  • Dinoroar Designer Paper Mat, cut to 4" x 5 1/4"

All of the products used can be found below and purchased in my online store!

Thanks so much for stopping by, today! I hope you love this little guy as much as I do!

New Catalog Blog Hop with Come Sail Away

Hi Crafty Friends!

It's that time of year again - the BEST time!! The new 2019-2020 Annual Stampin' Up! Catalog has arrived!

Today, I am hopping along with some of my fellow Luv2Stamp friends using new catalog product suites. I am showcasing the new Come Sail Away bundle. It's nautical and absolutely stunning!

This new Suite features a new Stamp/Die bundle, Designer Series Papers, Two Tone Bakers Twine, metal Trinkets, an Embossing Folder and Memories and More cards. It is chock-full of serenely gorgeous colors and images. I really loved working with these products.

My project for today is a lovely Thank You card that is perfect for anyone. One of my favorite pieces in the Smooth Sailing dies set is the stitched banner. Frankly, stitch anything and I'm going to LOVE it!

I used Sahara Sand for my card base, then added a piece of Night of Navy and a piece of the striped DSP. I took the two layers and off-set them just a bit. Before adhering them together, I wound the gorgeous Sahara Sand/Night of Navy Bakers Twine around them.

I used my Aqua Painter and Balmy Blue ink to create a light wash on the watercolor paper to pull all of the colors together. While that dried, I stamped my sentiment from the Sailing Home Cling Stamp Set in Soft Suede and die cut it with the stitched banner. I also stamped my lighthouse in Night of Navy, die cut that out and the helm out of Soft Suede. I wanted something a little darker than Sahara Sand and the Suede was a perfect addition.

Once my Balmy Blue piece was dry I inked up the bird trio in Soft Suede and stamped off on scratch paper before stamping it onto my watercolor paper. I wanted a softer look for the birds - so they would almost blend in to the backdrop. Be sure the watercolor panel is dry before stamping the birds or the ink may run a bit.

I layered the rest of my pieces onto the card and woila!

Thank you for hopping along with us today! I hope you love all of the projects you see!

If you started here, circle up to the top with Patty Bennett, who is featuring the new Floral Essence Suite!

Be Mine & Foil Sheets

Hi Crafty Friends,

In my previous post I mentioned the gorgeous Lovely Lipstick and Grapefruit Grove Foil Sheets. This paper is amazing. They each have a different sheen and you really have to see them in person to appreciate them in all their glory. The Lovely Lipstick is more of a matte metallic and the Grapefruit Grove looks like an oil slick that changes color with light's refraction. They're so fun to work with!

Today's project was inspired by a fellow Demonstrator, Cindi Clarke, who posted a lovely card showing how she used our  Embossing Folders with the Foil Sheets.

Mind. Blown.

This technique with the fantastic new Be Mine Framelits is a match made in heaven.

My heart features our Tufted Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. It's so feminine and pretty.

Are you ready for the project? Of course you are!!

Look how gorgeous this is! I made my card starting with a square base. I love working with square cards and this heart fit perfectly on it. My Lovely Lipstick card base is 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" when folded and I cut my Whisper White mat at 4" x 4". I put the same sized mat inside to make it easier to write on - and stamp, of course.

Look how lovely it is in Grapefruit Grove, also!

The flower accent on my heart is die cut from the same Framelit set out of Whisper White and I used my Stampin' Blends to color it in. Before die-cutting it, I used some of my Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet on the back of the card stock so it comes out like a sticker. This product is SO awesome for intricate dies. No mess glue on the back. And with the foil, that's an added bonus. If you accidentally use too much liquid glue and get it on the foil, it leaves a funky residue on the sheen.

There are so many great sentiments that work with this card. I chose to make one for my BFF and one for my husband. Stamping the sentiment inside the card keeps the front looking clean and classy!
